AIM

ROBA is a non-profit Association whose primary aim is to foster and strengthen the affinity between the alumni of the erstwhile Royal Indian Military College, and now the Rashtriya Indian Military College, Dehradun, hereinafter referred to as RIMC and the employees of the RIMC.

ROBA OBJECTIVES

To execute programmes in consonance with the above aim and undertake such activities and through such means that promotes the object of enhancement of standards.

To purchase, take on lease or in exchange or otherwise acquire any property which may be requisite for the purposes of, or conveniently used in connection with any of the objects of ROBA and in any way to transfer the same.

To hire and employ personnel and to pay them and to other persons e.g. class III/IV employees of RIMC, salaries, honorariums, or grants in return for services rendered to ROBA and / or RIMC.

To invest and deal with the money of ROBA not immediately required upon such securities as may from time to time be determined.

To raise money in any manner as permitted by law, for furthering the Aims and Objects of ROBA, duly approved by the General Body.

To adopt measures for enhancing the educational resources and other facilities for the RIMC.

To render financial assistance to serving/retired Class III/IV employees of RIMC.

To assist RIMC in maintaining a very high standard of education, sports and extra-curricular activities.

To do all such other lawful things as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above objects.

To award scholarships and prizes to deserving students of RIMC.

MEMBERSHIP

Associate Members

All Commandants, Principals, Vice Principals, Section Masters and masters who have taught at RIMC for minimum ten years, and Administrative Officers from the Defence Services who have served for minimum two years are eligible to apply for Associate Membership. Similarly, adult children of life members may also be considered if accepted by the life members and granted by the Working Committee.

Life Members

All ex-students of RIMC other than those expelled on disciplinary grounds, upon making a payment of a lump sum as determined, from time to time shall become life members, and upon their demise their wives shall be extended all facilities as life members except for voting rights.

Honorary Members

The Working Committee may, at its discretion, confer Honorary Membership upon dignitaries and persons of excellence visiting RIMC and to others who have assisted ROBA or the RIMC in a manner
deserving such a recognition provided it is proposed and seconded by a two-
thirds majority of life members at the Annual General Meeting.

  1. No person other than a life member shall have the right to attend meetings of ROBA and exercising the right to vote on any matter affecting the interest or management of ROBA, provided there are no outstanding dues against him.
     

  2. All classes of members are eligible to attend all functions organised by ROBA. Ex-students known as Rimcollians who have not yet enrolled themselves as members of ROBA are also eligible to attend such functions provided the pay their contributions at the rates prescribed which shall be higher than those prescribed for members.

All persons desirable of becoming members need to enrol themselves after paying their subscriptions as per the following:

ROBA MEMBER

A lifetime subscription of Rs 3000/- (Three thousand only) will be paid at the time of enrolment as a ROBA Member. The payment for this subscription can be made by cheque / e-transfer (RTGS/NEFT) or by Cash at RIMC. The form for enrolling as member is attached alongwith.

ROBA TRUST

In order to become a member of ROBA a contribution of Rs 5000/- (Rupees Five Thousand only) need to be made in favour of the ROBA Trust. The payment for this subscription can be made by cheque/ e-transfer (RTGS/NEFT) or by Cash at RIMC. The account details for ROBA Trust are as alongside:

ROBA NEWSLETTER

“The Rimcollian” shall be published periodically based on budgetary stipulations containing information and activities about the alumni and the RIMC, and articles of general interest in the furtherance of the aims and objects of ROBA. A lifetime subscription of Rs 2000/- (Rupees Two Thousand Only) may be made by cheque/ e-transfer (RTGS/NEFT) (account details same as ROBA Trust) or by Cash at RIMC.
